Reviews Skye Chamber Concerts.
Brass Tracks 18 Oct 25 – By Nick Sands
The 2025-26 programme of Skye Chamber Music got off to a great start last Saturday afternoon with a concert by Brass Tracks, Scotland’s most exciting and engaging brass quintet. They performed an imaginative variety of music from classical pieces by Bach, Handel and .. err yes .. King Henry VIII (before he turned mass murderer) to more modern work by, amongst others, Nicc Samitz, Michael Kamen and The Beatles. Their sound was superb and beautifully amplified by the acoustics of the lovely Saint Columba’s Church- which was substantially full. The audience appreciated the engaging nature of the musicians who introduced each piece with context, anecdote and humour. It was a most enjoyable afternoon and a good start to the season. Many thanks to Graeme Williamson on Trumpet & James Cunningham on Tuba for standing in at quick notice.
